Y’know, there’s this rumor floating around about a new SpongeBob game, and it’s kinda wild. Apparently, it’s skipping the trusty ol’ Switch and heading straight for its snazzier sibling, the Switch 2. Like, what? So many folks still haven’t snagged a Switch 2, so THQ Nordic’s move here is… well, unexpected.
Anyway, I heard whispers about this game — spotted in the vast corners of the internet. It got some kind of age rating in South Korea and Germany back in June. I think the title was SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide, which kinda sounds epic, doesn’t it? THQ Nordic’s behind it, and it’s geared up for PCs and the fancy new-gen PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
There was a tease in 2024 (honestly, how time flies) hinting at a new SpongeBob adventure, and now here we are, with leaks about release dates and all that jazz. Supposedly, mark your calendars for November 18, 2025, if this isn’t some elaborate prank. It’s set to hit PCs and consoles, not forgetting the almighty Switch 2. So anyone with the OG Switch is, um, kinda left hanging. Not cool, right?
Price-wise, they’re saying around $39.99. In today’s dollars, that’s about what, five cups of fancy coffee? Give or take. And word is, THQ Nordic might drop some official deets in the next two weeks, but who really can keep track of announcements these days?
The Switch 2, though, my goodness, it’s a hot ticket. Launched on June 5, and bam, millions gone like magic. But if you’re hunting for one, good luck. Maybe it’s a conspiracy, but some folks think it’ll be hard to find for a while.
The new game’s all about taking advantage of the beefier hardware — makes sense, I guess. But it’s gotta sting for those not jumping ship from the original Switch yet. Crossing fingers more folks can get the Switch 2 before launch, though! Makes it all a bit more exciting, doesn’t it?
