Established in 2009, Bandai Namco Online was specifically created to develop and manage online games, with notable titles like Dragon Ball Z: X KeeperZ, Gundam Evolution, and Blue Protocol under its belt. The decision to dismantle and merge this division has been attributed to recent shifts in the gaming industry landscape, paired with a strategic intent to enhance the overall management of the company’s digital enterprises.
In a related development, Bandai Namco had earlier this year revealed plans to wind down Blue Protocol, an MMO project that involved collaboration with Amazon, with its servers set to go offline on January 18, 2025.
