Happy New Year, Travelers! The Genshin Impact development crew is thrilled to wish you an outstanding beginning to 2025. We’re eager to unveil what’s in store for the next update, Version 5.4 “Moonlight Amidst Dreams” set to launch on February 12. Prepare to journey back to the electrifying land of Inazuma, where an extraordinary celebration awaits you. Make a new ally, Yumemizuki Mizuki, and reunite with beloved characters like Raiden Shogun and Yae Miko as they come together for the Mikawa Flower Festival. This magical event beautifully merges the realms of humans and youkai, inviting everyone to rejoice under Inazuma’s shimmering moon.
Set against the backdrop of Mt. Yougou, this year’s Mikawa Flower Festival promises to be brighter than ever. A relic from ancient gatherings of youkai, the festival today welcomes humans and youkai in a lively and colorful celebration. With fresh energy, it’s all about blending time-honored traditions with newfound friendships in memorable ways. This year, they’re adding a thrilling twist with the “48-hour Game Development Competition.” Also, get ready for a special appearance from Raiden Shogun, who might just be on a quest to unravel a mysterious nightmare involving an old acquaintance…
In this competition, both humans and youkai have two days to collaborate and create fresh games together. The magical touch from the Kitsune Meal allows youkai to speak human languages, fostering a captivating partnership that promises to bring about innovative mini-games!
One of the first entries is “A Little Fox’s Daydream,” where Mizuki and Kokomi take you on an adventure through a series of changing dreamscapes. Here, a little fox tries to navigate between delightful dreams and eerie nightmares to reach delicious fried tofu and its intended destinations.
Another creative intrigue, “Bunshin Phantasm,” tests your mettle in strategy and teamwork, crafted by Sayu, Yoimiya, and Kichiboushi. Guide Muji-Muji Daruma, who mimic your moves, as you engage pressure plates to clear paths to success!
Don’t miss “Akitsu Harpastum: Dreams Doubled,” brought to you by Thoma and his youkai buddies! It’s a neat blend of the traditional brick breaker game “Akitsu Yuugei” with a touch of Mondstadt’s harpastum, perfect for single or co-op play. As you complete these exciting mini-games, you earn Festival Stamps. These can be traded for cool rewards including the 4-star polearm, “Tamayuratei no Ohanashi.”
Over in the Aisa Bathhouse, there’s been a splash of newness with Mikawa Flower Festival-themed bathrobes, thanks to their leading shareholder and the new 5-star character, Yumemizuki Mizuki! As a dream-eating baku, Mizuki uses her ability to consume nightmares to assist her clients, employed in her role as a clinical psychologist. Even a Natlanese warrior, troubled after the Night Warden Wars, is seeking her help. Dive into Mizuki’s Story Quest, and you might just experience her transformative dream treatments at the bathhouse firsthand.
In battle, Mizuki shines as a 5-star Anemo catalyst user, seamlessly blending Swirl DMG with healing. Her open adaptability allows her to fit into diverse team compositions involving Pyro, Electro, Hydro, or Cryo elements, enhancing Swirl DMG and elevating the squad’s overall attack power. Activate her Elemental Skill, and Mizuki enters into the Dreamdrifter state, where she floats elegantly, dealing periodic AoE Anemo DMG while boosting her team’s Swirl DMG.
Mizuki can also tweak her healing tactics based on her team’s needs. Her Elemental Burst draws enemies in and creates “Yumemi Style Special Snacks”. Depending on the HP of the active character, these snacks either provide healing or deal AoE Anemo DMG. Her unique ability also amplifies healing, offering an extra 30% HP recovery when teammates use HP Recovery Dishes.
Here’s a handy combat hint for Mizuki! While enjoying the Dreamdrifter state, her range for collecting Yumemi Style Special Snacks is expanded, making it easier to gather them during a fight.
For the Version 5.4 Event Wishes, the first part will showcase the debut of Yumemizuki Mizuki and the return of Sigewinne. The second part features reruns of Furina and Wriothesley. Mizuki will join the Standard Wish banner once the Version 5.5 update rolls out.
Meeting up with old pals never grows old! In the course of the Mikawa Flower Festival, expect to cross paths with more familiar friends as you wander about. The new “Travelers’ Tales: Anthology Chapter” event will have you meeting up with old friends in the open world. Simply scout the map for anecdote icons to catch up on their recent escapades.
For those who relish combat, the “Realm of Tempered Valor” event offers up a gauntlet of combat challenges spanning 25 floors, available for solo or Co-Op Mode play. Achieve certain milestones to earn a unique Namecard!
Searching for extra activities? Dive into the multiplayer fishing mini-game, “Invasive Fish Wrangler,” or embark on ad-editing quests alongside your old chum, Xavier!
Lastly, here’s a peek at some user-friendly improvements we’re rolling out to streamline character growth. Level-Up Plans will be included in the “Training Guide.” Set your leveling targets, and the system will calculate the necessary materials and pinpoint where to locate them! Other crucial interfaces will also remind you of these materials, visible in the Adventurer Handbook, Domain entrances, Domain completion screens, and Battle Pass rewards.
Crafting is about to get simpler! Clicking “Craftable Amount” will let you teleport right to the Crafting Bench. Plus, an Auto Add button will be included in the Weapon Refinement interface to speed things along.
That wraps up today’s news! We hope you’ll reconnect with old buddies and forge new memories at the Mikawa Flower Festival. Relish the festivities and sweet dreams of Version 5.4, and we look forward to seeing you in your next grand adventure!
