Okay, so here’s the lowdown. Electronic Arts—yeah, those folks—are giving Anthem the old boot offline in 2026. Can you believe it? Apparently, they’re yanking it off the grid on January 12th. You can’t buy any more of those shiny in-game coins, but if you’ve got some stashed away, you can still splurge. Not sure if that’s supposed to feel comforting or not.
They’re all like, “Thanks for sticking with us!” which is kind of nice, but also, you wonder if they were crying while they typed it. But hey, they swear on their gaming consoles there aren’t any layoffs—at least not now. Tomorrow? Who knows.
Anthem was like this grand experiment from BioWare and EA. Launched way back in 2019. And, oh boy, did it flop. Bad! I mean, stories about its meteoric struggle were swirling faster than a hurricane.
BioWare tried to play hero, swooping in to fix things up. They even dropped hints about a whole new Anthem, dubbed Anthem Next or something. But poof! Gone like a puff of smoke. So, yeah, mark your calendars for 2026, if you care enough. Or not. Whatever floats your digital boat.
