Oh man, where do I even start with Diddy Kong? So, guess what? I’m clinging to this wild dream that Diddy’s finally gonna show up in Mario Kart World on the Nintendo Switch 2. It’s kinda like waiting for a pizza you ordered two hours ago. You just keep hoping it’ll show up at your door.
Anyway – and this is nuts – Diddy got a shiny new makeover not too long ago. But guess what? He’s still MIA from this lineup of 50 racers they’re teasing us with. Meanwhile, you’ve got the usual gang: Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Bowser. Plus, some fresh faces, um, wheels? Like Conkdor, Goomba, and even a cow. Yeah, a cow. Moo-ving up in the world, right? Somehow, this cow’s like, blowing up online. Weird times.
So IGN’s trying to get the scoop, right? They ask the producer, Kosuke Yabuki, if Diddy’s in the game, and he’s all mysterious, “I can’t say anything at this time.” Kind of feels like when someone hides the last cookie and won’t tell you where it is. But maybe there’s a sneaky plan to mix things up with Donkey Kong Bananza. Or maybe not. Who knows.
Flashback – Diddy made a late cameo in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe thanks to this Booster Course Pass thing. He rolled in with Funky Kong, Pauline, and Peachette. It’s like seeing an old band get back together for a surprise gig, all after his last jump into the console pool back in the Mario Kart Wii days. Ah, memories.
Alright, alright, if you’re itching for more Mario Kart World info – and who wouldn’t be? – you should totally check out our hands-on preview. It might just give you a taste of what’s waiting out there on the tracks.
Mark your calendars, peeps! Mario Kart World’s hitting stores and the Nintendo eShop only for that shiny Nintendo Switch 2 all across the globe on June 5, 2025. Can you hear the engines revving already?
