You ever feel like the universe aligns just to poke at you? Because that’s kinda how I felt stumbling onto this VR game thing called Eldramoor. Seriously, I was just minding my own business and bam, there it was — a campaign launching on Kickstarter, all set for June 24th. They’re aiming to breathe life back into, well, virtual reality life, I guess? After Orbus VR went belly up, someone had to take the wheel, right?
So, get this, the crew behind Eldramoor, named Resolute Games, are actually ex-Orbus players. They threw the studio together like last February. Speedy bunch. And, they’re dreaming of putting this VRMMO onto Quest 3 and SteamVR headsets by the end of next year. But hey, let’s focus on now. The present, man.
Anyway, so they made this world, Eldramoor. Mystical vibes everywhere, foggy fantasy land — the whole shebang. You chase after some legendary hero guy, Eldranis? Strange name, but maybe it works. Who am I to judge? Battles for good folks, random jobs to master, hanging out in taverns — which, let’s be real, sounds like the best part. Mini-games galore. It’s got a storyline with dark forces lurking, like some bad guy from a forgotten fairy tale.
The game promises all sorts of jazz. Playable classes to pick from — Warrior or Mage, anyone? Or maybe a chill Monk or a mysterious Alchemist. Pretty sure there are dungeons and boss battles, plus co-op scavenging. Who knew fishing would be a thing in VR, but hey, here we are. There’s all sorts of activities from smithing to cooking. Might not find everything at the start, but it’s something.
Funding details are still kinda shadowy — cloak and dagger style, except not? Lynn M. Souza, the head honcho, mentioned aiming for a basic $25k, just like those other guys at Zenith. And surprise, VR MMORPGs are this tricky beast. Orbus VR’s gone, Zenith’s dudes have kinda backed off. Rumblings of financial woes. VR ain’t cheap, folks.
Ilysia VR, though, it’s like a ray of sunlight or something? Born from Kickstarter dreams in 2020, now happily living on Quest and SteamVR headsets. Constant updates, and ooh, in-game purchases. Gotta get them cool items, right?
So, Souza hopped onto the Discord — like no big deal, just chatting with fans. Mentioned how the old Quest 1 version of Orbus was swell but outdated. And then Zenith and Ilysia showed up. She was a Kickstarter backer and a Patreon of Ilysia, digging the whole concept.
Look, Eldramoor might light up your VR goggles by December 2026. That’s what they’re saying, anyway. Targeting PCs, Meta Quest 3, and whatever other VR gizmos are coming. They’re thinking of dribbling out an alpha near end of 2025, with a beta following the summer of 2026.
If this sounds like your jam, check it out when the Kickstarter blasts off June 24th, waddling its way through July 24th. Steam page is also live, if you’re the ‘wishlist now, play later’ type. All sounds intriguing, or maybe it’s just me — got sidetracked by all this misty magic.
