Sure thing, let’s shake things up a bit.

So, here’s this quirky thing I stumbled upon. Microsoft went all out, yeah? They tossed a bunch of their big Xbox games onto PS5 last month. I mean, did they think about what it’d do to the sales charts? Maybe they did, but honestly, who really knows these days? Anyway — or was it, wait, nah, continue on — so there it is: bloom of green on top of the PS best-seller lineup for April! Forza Horizon 5, Minecraft, and, yep, Oblivion Remastered.
I remember yapping about this before — before what? Doesn’t even matter. Xbox got its timing right with this cross-platform push. So, boom, there we were, right before they even threw in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle or Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. It’s like Xbox sat there thinking, “There’s not much Sony-published stuff coming soon,” and they freaking pounced on the opportunity.
Oh but here’s the kicker, Sony dropped the list of April’s most downloaded PlayStation Store titles. Drum roll, anyone? Top of Europe’s list: Forza, then Oblivion Remastered, and rounding it off, Minecraft. All Xbox biz, right smack on top. Stateside, you ask? Oblivion came first, Minecraft second, Forza right after. Indiana? Eighth in EU, eleventh in the US. Kinda unexpected, considering the name. Maybe they hopped on Xbox back in December. Good old Clair Obscur snagged fourth and sixth, EU and US respectively.
Now, Days Gone Remastered, pretty much PlayStation’s big swing for that month, hit eleventh and twelfth in EU and US. Not too shabby for something folks didn’t seem too hot about catching fire.
Xbox with this strategy — what do we call it? — this multi-platform shindig, turning what we’d think of as Xbox exclusives into these timed gigs, seems to be on the victory lap.
Just as I figured, right? Another Xbox classic’s peeking its head around the corner. August 26, 2025, mark your calendars! Gears of War: Reloaded. Coming to PS5, Steam, Xbox Series X/S, Game Pass. Tagged with a $39.99 sticker, packed with its past Ultimate Edition stuff. Coalition, Sumo Interactive, and Disbelief on dev duty. It’s all about faster frame rates, deeper visuals, yada yada. Xbox really went for the gusto with their PR chat.
