We’ve been eagerly anticipating this, and now it’s official: preorders for the Switch 2 in the United States are set, following a couple of weeks dominated by tariff discussions.
Nintendo released a statement earlier today, confirming that the Switch 2 will be available for preorder starting Thursday, April 24. The pricing remains as previously stated—$449.99 for just the console itself or $499.99 if you opt for the bundle that includes the digital version of Mario Kart World.
However, Nintendo has warned of potential fluctuations in accessory prices due to the current market conditions. The Switch 2 Pro Controller will now cost $84.99, which is a $5 increase. Similarly, a set of Switch 2 Joy-Cons has also jumped by $5, now priced at $94.99. If you’re eyeing an additional dock set, it’s going to set you back $119.99, reflecting a $10 hike. Joy-Con straps are up by $1, now $13.99, and other accessory costs have risen by $5. There’s a comprehensive list of all the hardware pricing details, including the prices for games like Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza, included in this update.
As for our northern neighbors, Canadian gamers can likely expect preorders to open on the same day, although official confirmation may be delayed due to a national holiday. Despite the lack of updates from retailers, Nintendo of Canada has indeed affirmed the date and corresponding Canadian prices.
