Alright, so here’s the scoop on Title Update 2 for Monster Hunter Wilds. I gotta say, Capcom’s giving us the goods this time. They dropped a ton of info during their June Spotlight thing. I mean, I thought it was just gonna be the usual blah blah, but nope, lots to unpack here.
First off, mark your calendars ’cause the update drops Monday, June 30. But heads up, they’re gonna do some maintenance stuff, so the game’s gonna be MIA for a bit. Don’t you just hate waiting?
Now, let’s talk monsters! Biggest news? Lagiacrus and Seregios are crashing the party. And if you’re like, “Wait, underwater combat?” Yup, Lagiacrus brings that mess with him. Strange, right? You have to bob around without your trusty weapon. And oh, you gotta have finished A World Turned Upside Down and be Hunter Rank 31 to jump in on that madness.
With Seregios, same deal — HR 31 or higher. And you know what? They’re both coming with new armor sets for you and your Palico. Oh, and there are souped-up versions of them patrolling if you’re at HR 41 or beyond. Guess Capcom wants us all busy.
TU2 also teases something called the Arch-tempered variant of Uth Duna. No idea why they delay it, but it won’t be here till July 30. Part of some Event Quest jazz, you gotta hit HR 50 to even think about taking that beast on. New gear, too. Because why not?
Okay, onto crafting — you can finally mess around with layered weapons. Change up your weapon’s look while keeping the good stats. Bit picky though; you need to top off the weapon tree to use one as your layer. Artian Weapons can layer too, but only if they’re Rarity 8. Talk about high maintenance.
And there’s more! New handler options, smaller features, yadda yadda. Oh, and the Festival of Accord: Flamefete is coming. Think July 23-August 6, complete with new armor and fancy camp fluff.
Capcom’s already hinting Title Update 3 is set for September. New monster, more festivals. Typical, right?
Honestly, this update’s coming at a rough time for Wilds. Player numbers are hitting weird lows, even compared to Monster Hunter World back in ’18. Reviews on Steam? Yikes, tanking hard with an Overwhelmingly Negative rating now. So yeah, curious if this update changes the vibe at all.
Anyway, that’s the lowdown. Stay tuned, who knows what’ll happen next.
