Wow, okay, so let’s talk about this wild new VR game, Reach. nDreams Elevation, which I guess is like their new kid in the playground, showed this off at the Future Games Show. And when I say wild, I mean it—picture yourself doing full-on parkour, battling some giant mythical creatures, and exploring a world that’s apparently super detailed. I mean, I barely remember what I had for breakfast, but this game stuck with me.
This is the big debut for nDreams Elevation, birthed in 2022, making it all official-like. They’re calling Reach their “most ambitious” project ever. You know, kind of like when you set out to finally keep a houseplant alive? Ambitious.
So yeah, this thing’s launching on every major VR headset you can think of—and some that aren’t even out yet, because who needs specifics, right? The game’s all about speed—like you’re flying through the air, jumping and zip-lining all over the place. It gives me vibes of their older stuff like Fracked and Synapse. Super cool and very VR-ish.
In the teaser they showed, I guess you’re supposed to use all these tools and just, I dunno, blaze your own trail or whatever. Every move affects your world, somehow. Reminds me of one time I accidentally cut across my neighbor’s lawn and they never forgave me, but cooler.
Oh, and Shuhei Yoshida, the legend from Sony, he’s in on this too. Like, if Shu’s backing it—well, there’s your golden stamp of approval. He was all like, “I’m thrilled!” Couldn’t stop singing its praises after playing it. That’s gotta mean something, yeah?
Glenn Brace, the head honcho over at nDreams Elevation, said they’re aiming for players to feel present and powerful, and live the whole VR dream. They’re about pushing boundaries or something. I mean, it sounds like quite a ride.
Anyway, while we all wait with bated breath, you can wishlist Reach on places like the Horizon Store, PlayStation Store, or Steam. You know, if you’re into that kind of thing. Catch y’all later.
