Alright, so here’s this game, “The Operator” from Bureau 81. Picture it: you playing as Evan Tanner, this fresh-faced Operator, diving into the deep end with FDI agents. Mysterious crimes, high-tech software, yada yada. CSI vibes all over. And, oh, yes, it’s now on Nintendo. Was on Steam last year, but I guess Switch players need their slice too?
So, your job? You’re basically glued to this secure Federal terminal, okay? Keeping secrets and all that jazz. It’s like a whole spy movie scene – secretaries, clearances, supervisors. Oh, bureaucracy, how thrilling. You sort things out for field agents, close the call, rinse and repeat. Simple, huh?
Get this, you can play on the Switch with Joy-Cons or just poke at the screen like a caveman. Really depends on your style, or how lazy you’re feeling. Tapping through data, pulling phone duty, and choosing dialogue. Hope your detective skills are on point, because they’ll shape the plot, or at least that’s what they claim. With Joy-Cons, it’s all about those sticks and buttons. Poke and press around until something happens.
And yeah, there are all these apps: calculators, trash bins, command inputs. It’s like they threw a whole mini-office into your console. Really live that nine-to-five life. Oh, there’s a Human DB for citizen info. Fancy. A Car DB too – gotta love cross-referencing plates like a pro. Settings let you fiddle with sound or make stuff readable – if you can even read the ant-sized text on the Switch screen. Good luck gaming without squinting.
Intriguingly messy jump to Switch though. It’s not awful, but seriously, what’s with the tiny text? You aren’t inches from the screen like with a PC. Your patience needs to be on point. The game’s $13.99 on Switch, if that’s your thing.
Nothing says “immersive experience” like squinting, right? Anyway, if puzzling through data and being a digital detective sounds like a good weekend, maybe give it a go. Just brace for a bit of an eyestrain.
Oh, and they sent a Nintendo Switch copy for this review. Because, you know, ethical transparency or something. Thanks, Bureau 81.
